The Association of Official Seed Analyst (AOSA) is an organization of member laboratories dedicated to education and research, including state, federal, and university laboratories from the United States and Canada.
AOSA formally organized in Washington D.C. in 1908, developing rules and procedures for seed testing and the standardization of their interpretation (in conjunction with the Federal Seed Act)
The Society of Commercial Seed Technologists (SCST) is an organization of professional seed technologists dedicated to research, proficiency and improvement in seed testing from private, and company laboratories across the United States and Canada.
SCST originated in 1922, largely as a liaison between The Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA) and The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA).

At this year’s ASTA Field Crop Meeting and Seed Expo, AOSA, SCST, and AOSCA leaders and members were actively engaged, connecting with partners, sharing expertise, and spotlighting emerging issues in seed science and certification. From leadership discussions at the AOSCA/AOSA-SCST/AASCO booth, to presentations on rye quality, genetic marker potential, and hands-on conversations about seed sampling and certification, it was a strong showing from across the seed community.
