The Association of Official Seed Analyst (AOSA) is an organization of member laboratories dedicated to education and research, including state, federal, and university laboratories from the United States and Canada.
AOSA formally organized in Washington D.C. in 1908, developing rules and procedures for seed testing and the standardization of their interpretation (in conjunction with the Federal Seed Act)
The Society of Commercial Seed Technologists (SCST) is an organization of professional seed technologists dedicated to research, proficiency and improvement in seed testing from private, and company laboratories across the United States and Canada.
SCST originated in 1922, largely as a liaison between The Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA) and The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA).

The AOSA-SCST Purity Subcommittee is looking to expand its membership!
Most communications will be via email or Zoom, and attendance at the annual meeting is not required. The subcommittee is responsible for discussing purity testing issues, seed identification assistance, and developing rule proposals for improving seed quality testing.
